Kookaburra Activities

I discovered that a kookaburra was banging a white pebble repeatedly on the metal gate with incredible force. I distracted him with food which he ate and the pebble was forgotten. He then went to the bird bath but I did not see him drink. He then flew up onto the fence and stayed for some time. I think awaiting my return with food. I did not return so eventually he went on with his day.
