No Duff

We had an exciting air sea rescue exercise yesterday. It’s good to know that the ship takes safety very seriously. And we learned a new phrase. If the announcement says “for drill, abandon ship”, you can safely carry on eating your gourmet French dinner. But if the announcement says “no duff, abandon ship”, you need to grab your survival suit and life jacket!

The captain woke us at about 5am to invite us on deck to share the aurora and the bright moon. These two photos were also taken less than a minute apart, one looking slightly to the right, the other slightly to the left. The aurora was only visible without the moon, but I liked the way night mode on the iPhone blurred the moon light sparkling on the sea.
