Merlin and a book

I just love sitting under my magnolia tree, on my bench, with a good book and Merlin by my side.

Yes. It’s sometimes gloomy weather.
Yes. There’s traffic noise.

But this morning, I couldn’t resist finishing the Rob Rinder novel (which I totally recommend) while Merlin listed the birds we could hear.

The usual… goldfinches, blue and great tits, my robin, sparrows and even a long tailed tit. 

I really ought to do a bit more tidying, either in the garden or the house……..
