Another Day

Campbell Wharf

My car had to go in for a service and MOT this lunchtime, so after dropping it off, JJ and I went down to the canal, parked and walked across to the marina and new development, where Igor and Anniemay had been a couple of weeks ago.

We had a light lunch sitting outside the coffee shop and then intended walking up through the park to MK centre and back, but it started drizzling, so went by car instead.

Bumped into our close friends, who were laden with purchases, having been there several hours and were just off to Raymond Blanc's for lunch.  We did a circuit, purchasing socks for JJ and a couple of books in Waterstones, then to JL for beverages before it was time to collect my car.

JJ asked the price of the new Mini they had on show and I burst out laughing when they said just over £39,000.  That's more than our third house cost in 1978.  When I say third house, we weren't collecting them, just moving upmarket.

The barge struck a chord, being all electric.
