Sunflower grown as far as time allows
The Feast Day of Irish Benedictine Saint, Blessed Columba Marmion.
The sky in the west from here in Rishton, was deep grey and stormy. The rain poured heavily and powerfully, as I looked out from the window. After a little while, the sky cleared and there was a time of sun and wind and the several plants in the garden were no longer still. The pigeons and magpies are our regular feeders.
The sunflower is unlikely to flower. I am not massively disappointed.
I learnt about how temperature effects sunflower success or lack of success and it was more about accommodation of the tall sunflower, borrowed canes to support it and sufficient space to let it be itself. I will not grow one again or don't plan to.
Have a great time. Thank you for visiting today.
