Staycation Day 2 - Majesty

It was up to Lancing College today to see the chapel (that I didn't get to see at my friend's wedding last week!). It was pretty amazing. All built in the 19th and 20th century (and still not finished!) but it looks genuinely old and has incredibly impressive architecture.

That window at the top is a lot bigger than it looks. Apparently there was an aerial photograph of when it was laid out on the grass outside before it was installed and there was a guy in the photo sitting on a piece of the stone between the pieces of window glass, and you could barely see him. Gives you an idea!

We were shown round by a former boy of the school who was able to give us a personal tour - we were the only people inside and we got an organ recital to boot as the Music Director was in there giving someone (probably their star organist) a personal lesson. So we timed the visit well!

From here it was on to Steyning for a cup of tea and awesome cake (they've got a website, very nice place!)
