FERRIES FROM KIRKWALL

Yesterday's blip was some of the inter-island ferries that leave from Kirkwall.
They have a regular service to seven of the inhabited Orkney Islands:
North Ronaldsay, Papa Westray, Westray, Sanday & Eday;
Shapinsay and Stronsay   ...   (seven islands)

Services to Rousay, Egilsay & Wyre leave from Tingwall.

Services to three other islands, Hoy, Graemsay and Flotta, leave from Stromness and nearby Houton.
Most services are *Ro-Ro, but one of the Westray and Papa Westray services cranes vehicles on and off.
The Flotta and Hoy service from Houton is Ro-Ro, but the Hoy and Graemsay service will crane lift vehicles to Graemsay by special arrangement.

(*Ro-Ro stands for roll-on, roll-off: vehicles can be driven on and off the boat.)
