A Day In The Life

Scavengers

We harvested the rest of the scallions today. Now the only plants growing in our garden are weeds, and those will be cleared by the weekend :) • Thanks to MrsP we found and collected two trays of acorns, giving us three total - and there’s plenty more where these came from! • The deer, squirrels, bluejays and woodpeckers will enjoy these nutty treats this winter • Per Simply Oak:

- Most oak trees produce their first acorns at 20 years of age, and continues until they’re 80 when it begins to decrease
- One oak tree produces more than 2,000 acorns per year, but only one in 10,000 will develop into a tree
- Oaks are more likely to be struck by lightning than other trees
