Great Tit ( Parus major )
A quiet day round home. Not a very good day for blipping, there weren't even many birds visiting the feeders. So I settled for this shot of a Great Tit.
Great Tits are one of the few species which is doing well. There has been an increase in population of about 90% in the last 50 years. There has also been a slight increase in distribution. The average life for a Great Tit is three years but the record (proved by ringing recoveries) is 10 years 5 months and 18 days.
