Party time

I was guest today when a local small village WI celebrated their 95th birthday. They wore hats (no, WI members don't usually wear hats!), enjoyed a quiz and a sing-song, and partook of the most enormous tea. This WI always has a good time. They meet in a small village and I wondered what it was like when they started in 1918. No electricity and no mains drainage, there was a village school and most of the population were involved in farming. Now many people commute up to London, the school has closed and many of the population are aging. But hooray, they still have a shop!
