More planning
I had an uneventful work day. From 1pm I was on the second part of the interview skills training that started last week. It finished at 4 and I had another hour which flew, before I was logging off and heading to yoga with Jon.
Once back and dinner consumed, Jon got back to focusing on the NC500 trip. He has a spreadsheet with the itinerary and now has confirmation that the motorhome has been booked. So a daily plan, with from and to and distances plus times for a rough guide is pretty firm. We booked somewhere for the boys to stay on the first and last nights in Edinburgh, which just leaves campsites to book. That shouldn't take long tomorrow. A bit of admin to do, with regard to sharing driving licence and other documents with the hire company and everything is looking like this trip is really going to happen on 11th.
We had a quick catch up with Cathy on WhatsApp video to go over a few things, and were joined by Martin's voice (he is not very techy and couldn't work out the camera). All feeling positive about the forthcoming trio's trip. Jon is going to do some food shopping lists, and continue with costing and booking campsites, and they plan to go over it all again at the weekend. Just waiting for an NC500 specific map to come, which should give them an idea of good places to stop. The decisions obout that can be made with Andy once they are on the road.
I'm quite envious. Roll on next Tuesday evening when Jon plans to head to Hertfordshire after work, where they will begin their road trip on the Wednesday. I hope very much to get some daily updates to share...although Martin's comment was 'what goes on on the NC500 stays on the NC500'......but they're not getting away with that one!!!
