Russia tried to increase the price on electricity it was selling to China. China said no. China is facing droughts but it is still a tough negotiator. 

Ukraine said Russia lost 40 artillery systems and 15 tanks in one day. Newsweek has been unable to verify. Ukraine also said it hit a factory that manufactures Kh-59 cruise missiles in western Russia. 

Russian gas production in the first half of this year is 24.7% lower than this time last year.  This is the lowest it has been for 44 years. Putin's decision to weaponize gas supplies has blown up in his face.
