Our present Prime Minister has scrapped so many things you wonder what will go next!
A little rant next.
The HS2 (High Speed Rail link) to the North has been scrapped today.
They had a consultation 3 years ago and decided to keep forging ahead,
At this late juncture, we have people around here in a village called Middleton who had their land requisitioned.
As we drive to Tamworth the HS2 was going to cross the main road by bridge. The work there has been going on for months, with fields either side ploughed up, and marker posts along the route, There is a big site for the workers and their equipment.
What is going to happen to these huge swathes of land now, and those who had their houses requisitioned.
The line into Birmingham will be completed but it doesn’t go into New Street Station and if the PM decides that the link South will end at Oak Common and not Euston what’s the point?
No-one from Brum would want to go there and not right into the main station for London.
Rant over.
No doubt it will be a discussion we have in our little coffee group after Pilates this afternoon.
