A splatter of feathers usually means one thing - one of the local raptors (usually a sparrowhawk) has had breakfast. This morning, they left the body of the pigeon (minus a few organs) spread-eagled on the drive. I thought a photo before removing the body might not be something many people would want to see, though - hence just a blip of the feathers.
