Photo Book Café

A fascinating meeting of the Photo Society at the Photo Book Cafe  in Shoreditch. It was a chance to learn more about the variety of book types and levels of complexity. Matt, the curator manager explained his journey to becoming involved with the establishment of the venue. He showed us examples of his own books and zines. All impressive stuff.

Our meeting coincided with an exhibition of Indonesian Photobooks with a presentation by two publishers, Ari and Caron, from Djakarta. The variety of work on display was an eye opener. And it turns out that Indonesia is big on photo books. And has a solid body of really excellent photographers with creative ideas.
