Scaffolding

Our neighbour is doing up his house and has put up scaffolding to put on a new roof. As a ‘quid pro quo’ for letting him put the scaffolding on our land, we made sure that where the scaffolding was installed, I could reach our guttering that needed replacing and also an upstairs window that has got rotten wood.
Today our builder arrived and replaced all the old cast iron guttering, which was slowly disintegrating. Next week, a carpenter will come and cut out all the bad wood and replace it. So satisfying to be able to get these jobs done without the huge expense of putting up scaffolding ourselves. Making the best of a not particularly satisfactory situation.
