A day spent at Cragside, Northumberland

This property is owned by the National Trust and definitely worth a visit. I had hoped to see red squirrels but that would have involved venturing further out into the estate and it is quite large.  You can drive your car in it for six miles!  We spent our time inside the property amazed at the sheer variety of objects on show. Then after a late lunch investigated the areas nearer the house.  I thought the gorge, formal garden and bridge were particularly lovely.
