A plodge on the Longsands...

...well it would be rude not to...

Came up to Tynemouth to see a plumber/electrician as the immersion heater failed last time we were up. He was due to arrive some time between 8 and 12, but phoned at 8 to clarify the job. His advice was to leave it be, as it has worked ever since Roy replaced the fuse. Apparently they do go, and if there is a fault it will blow again - at which point he will come and work his magic. On the other hand, it may just go on quite happily for years ... A bit of a wasted journey up the A19 - including a detour for roadworks - but at least our minds are now at rest...

Anyway - it gave me the opportunity to have a good catch up with Sue. We caught the Metro to Whitley Bay, and made our way back along the prom via a coffee in Cullercoats. The tide was high at 9.30, so we hadn't planned to walk on the soft sand. We realised it had already gone out quite a way, so we dropped down onto the Longsands, and then couldn't resist a plodge. The cold water makes your feet fizz... We also managed to acquire a couple of little dogs, who persuaded us to throw their ball for them ;)
