Red peony

This particular peony bush was in this spot when we moved into our home almost 40 years ago. I've divided it several times and am always delighted when it blooms. I haven't ever been able to find this type for sale. It resembles the Mikado although I think it is more burgundy in color than the Mikado's I've seen. It is too bad I can't blip the scent to you. It's even lovelier than the bloom.
