Phalaenopsis Orchid

A rotten day weatherwise.  Apart from nipping out to the Lodge to turn the heating on for tomorrow's guests we spent the day at home catching up on jobs.

The weather didn't lend itself to outdoor photography so I decided on a shot of one of my orchids.  Phalaenopsis are one of the easiest orchids to grow in a house.  That is why you see them everywhere.  The advent of tissue culture for propagation has made orchids as affordable as bunches of flowers, with the added advantage of a long flowering time and flowering again and again.
