Not Waving But Dying :(

This is a 7.00 pm bee. The only bee around at that time in the field. I don't know why but I don't usually bother to shoot bees. There were hardly any other bugs about.

It was fumbling about in the buttercup flower and this is its valedictory wave, given just before it fell to the ground. It is possibly a white-tailed or buff-tailed bumble bee. When one finds a bee lacking in vigour like this one the cause can often be infestation with parasites.
