The Lune from Halton

It was another gorgeous day, today, so hot that people went down to the river, to sit on its stony beaches, children playing in the (still rather cold) water.

This is the view south from the bridge that crosses the Lune near Halton. Look how clear the water is, a sure sign that there hasn't been much rain and that the Lune is proceeding in a sedate fashion down to to Morecambe Bay.
