Across the bay

Nick channelling Jay Gatsby as we walked up the pier at Dun Laoghaire in balmy weather at near midnight after a wonderful dinner in Dublin.   We ate at the Winding Stair, a cafe and book shop at ground level it has two floors of restaurant above and the food was fantastic. We closed out the place and were driven back to the hotel by a taxi driver who talked non stop and once we’d steered him away from the bumpy subject of ‘migrants’ was highly entertaining about Dublin, Liverpool and British television.  Only slightly hairy moment was when he popped his phone up on the dashboard and showed us some video of a great night out he’d had in Liverpool the week before.

So the day ended well but started with a long drive to Heathrow (traffic!!) and a delayed flight from leaving late to sitting on the tarmac at Dublin waiting for a broken down plane to clear.

A fantastically useful afternoon in the cutting room on episode 4 with the dream team of John and Stephen the editor.  I had one niggle about the structure of that episode that it was good to work through.  We missed a screening of a film that Jonathan had worked on so went straight off to dinner.
