Watching

I stumbled on these guys as I was mooching around Edinburgh with BigBro. I hadn't intended to be there (unlike many surrounding us) it was just a right time, right place type moment.

The Black Watch marched past after the 21 gum salute at noon in honour of Prince Philip's 92nd birthday.

Whilst I respect the royal family and like the artistic side to the pomp that surrounds them, I wouldn't go out on a limb or line the streets to see or celebrate them. I did, however, take a moment to reflect... Philip's Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme played a pivotal, positive and consistant role during 'somewhat tricky' teenage years. For that, I will forever be grateful. So happy birthday Sir!
