Chaffinch in the plum tree in the rain

I cannot remember a day of such relentless heavy rain. I haven’t been out of the house all day which I absolutely hate especially on a Saturday. At least it has meant I have taken my time to slowly prepare several dishes for this evening’s meal and they taste much nicer for it than when I am rushing at the last minute which is usually the case. My daughter and boyfriend will be round for dinner and to watch Strictly, our normal autumn/winter routine.
