Kersal Wetlands

I met up with Simon after work, and we talk a walk out to the Kersal Wetlands. It's a pleasant walk up there from The Crescent, taking in Peel Park and a stretch of the River Irwell.

We walked 'round the old racecourse, coming across a mural I don't think I've noticed before (see Extra), and then walked from there up to the Star Inn for a couple of drinks.

Our plan had been to finish our trek with dinner at the Sakura on St Stephen Street, which seemed appropriate as both Simon and I had spent part of our lives living in Hong Kong, but they told us they had no vegetables (and Simon is vegetarian), so instead we walked 'round to Porta and ended our evening very pleasantly there.
