Broughton Public School
Isn't it odd - and very Edinburgh - that City Council schools housed in solid Victorian dignity so often find themselves transferred to a (debt-ridden)new-build 'fit for the 21st century' and their original building sold off to developers of desirable homes. 40 years on, it is the new-build that is pulled down and replaced.
Isn't it odd that the original buildings of the private schools in the city seem to remain adaptable & fit for this century, merely requiring additional new buildings rather than disposal of the old.
(Apologies, feeling very grumpy this evening and ready to rant).
