Floods in Scotland - heatwave in Turkey
Its Saturday afternoon. I decide to pop into Stirling to do some shopping.
But the two roads leading to it are closed due to flooding and there has been an accident on the motorway, so that’s closed too.
The Allan Water river (pictured) is the highest we have seen it ( see extra) and for the first time ever the water has breached the stone barricade near some houses ( see extra).
Is this a taste of what’s to come ?
Meanwhile M sent some photos from Turkey. It’s 30C.
They are based in the ancient city of Fethiye. First excursion was to the rock temples set in the mountains above th city. ( See extra.)
To get to the tomb of Amyntas involved a steep climb involving 200 steps. Less than half the group tackled it. The rest sat in a restaurant and watched. I would have been among the latter.
