Time to come home.

Scotland were knocked out of the Rugby World Cup 2023 with after a poor performance against Ireland at Stade de France in Paris. My shirt photo is from RWC 2007, also played in Paris. To think we’d an option in 2007 of 4 tickets for the semi finals, and I turned them down…..

The pools for the 2023 competition were announced on 14 December 2020. World Rugby were widely criticised for this, so far ahead of the tournament, and it has since proven to be a mistake. It resulted in a lopsided draw, with the top five nations, including Scotland, in the rankings in either Pool A or B. Ironically less good teams will progress.

World Rugby have recently said “What we will be doing is looking to have the pool draw as late as possible so that you get more consistency around the balance in a pool.”….. too late for Scotland this time.

Here. - a day of particularly heavy rain. Day 3 of the Alfred Dunhill Championship 2023 suspended. Lots of flooding locally and elsewhere in Scotland.
