Wet,wet,wet.....

Dreich. Been raining since 4 pm yesterday, and showing no sign of a let up. By tonight that's 70 mm I've emptied out of the rain gauge, nearly 3 inches.
There's only 2 years I can remember that we didn't finish harvest. 1985 ,which was a hellish wet year, and we had to leave 30 acres of barley.
And 2010, when there was about 15 acres of very flat oats. I eventually mowed it in January when there was a hard frost and baled it up for bedding the cows with.
The way things are looking today ,this might be the third year. We still have 45 acres of barley to go. On the bright side,we have 2 neighbours in the same boat......
Dropped Littlemiss off at Kings buildings for Edinburgh Uni open day,as she has dropped her Glasgow course and is taking a year out. It's nice to have my old cheery daughter back after a month of upset.
Then dropped Junior off at his barbers.
Back home ,fed the heifers down the road, much muddier round the troughs than yesterday, then back home to run Junior into town for a night out with his pals.
Hopefully it will be a bit drier tomorrow.....
