A good day
Today being Sunday we walked down to the Farmers’ Market, bought some veg, lamb, sausages and a couple of plants. We had coffee at The Harbour Street Collective Café then wandered a bit further along the street, which is how we came to find Cycle Journeys’ beautiful new base. When we did the Alps 2 Ocean with them in January last year they were in a small space on The Esplanade, now they’re in the middle of the Victorian Precinct in a beautifully renovated former grain store. It was good to see. We chatted with one of the staff for a few minutes then continued on our journey and found a new food “pantry” right by the Harbour Street Bakery. We had a little browse around, asked about a couple of items we’ve had trouble sourcing and were told that it would be no trouble to buy them in for us.
We spent the afternoon down in the basement. MrMacD got stuck in and cleaned out a lot of rubbish and tidied up a space in the “undeveloped” area under the house while I used a sugar soap solution to clean the ceiling in the “developed” area and also the walls in what will soon be the garden loo. There are one or two minor holes to fill and sand and then I can start painting. I’d like to get it done before the plumber turns up to install the new loo and vanity unit.
MrMacD has also been preparing his sourdough dough, which will sit in the fridge overnight and be baked in the morning.
Altogether a good day.
Neptune’s Hydro-matic water pump caught our eye at Cycle Journeys’ new base and became today’s blip.
