Lady Burn
It has rained relentlessly for the last 2 days although in the East we are not nearly as bad as some parts of Scotland where they had 100 mm yesterday and there has been severe flooding and landslides.
The Lady Burn was more like a rushing river this morning with the water colour showing how much soil was running off the fields - at some times of the year it is not much more than a small stream of water which is how I tend to associate the word “burn” .
The River Eden, our main river, on the other hand was bursting its banks as it flows through the centre of town - the extra shows its effect on the park although it was to get a lot worse later and surrounding farm land will be flooded for days.
Not good for the Dunhill golf only a few miles away !
