Elevated - Newcastle - Millenium Bridge
Today was transit day back home.
The weather appears to have turned and it had that air of about to tip down. As a wee stop on the way back home we stopped off at the Quayside for the market that we knew was on. We partook in some of it's wares, returning with some items too, including a horrendously blue "Cookie Monster" cupcake.
But we also got to see the tilting of the Millenium Bridge while we were there. Something that we were not expecting - it silently rose from it's normal working location to this crescendo point, allowing a small yaght to pass, then returning back to service. It almost was a bit anticlimactic, where it just moved into this location with little noise or fuss. I think the port authority men had more hassles stopping the humans from crossing, than they did operating the bridge!
I got this vantage point from one of the top floors of the Baltic Building next door.
