Bury Ditches

Big morning walk up and over the Iron Age hillfort at Caer Caradoc. There are two Caer Caradocs in Shropshire, this was the less frequently visited and more southerly one. Both claim to be the location for Caractus's last stand against the Romans. One Iron Age hillfort is seldom enough for me so in the afternoon we headed over to Bury Ditches. Dating from around 5,000 BC it is one of the largest and best preserved hillforts in Britain. My blip is the view from the top looking north and east across Shropshire to Clee Hill (centre) and the Long Mynd (left) on the horizon.
