Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland
Lauterbrunnen is a small town in the centre of a large horseshoe shaped glacial valley in the southern Swiss Alps.
During the spring melt and after rainfall many waterfalls cascade off of the cliffs for hundreds of metres to the valley below.
Top left- the largest waterfall is called Staubbach Falls and tourists can climb a trail/staircase where, if the falls is flowing strongly, you can see the falls from behind.
Top right- a stream drains the centre of the valley.
Bottom left- a very large cow bell. The sound of cow bells rings throughout the valley.
Bottom right- a view of the valley wall.
Extra- a sign in the Freiburg train parking lot. Twenty minutes of free parking to kiss your loved ones goodbye and show them to their platform.
