Irritatingly, there are slight variations in the lengths of the lengths of dowel, but they're all very usefully just a fraction narrower than the 22mm holesaw and haven't required any sanding to get them to fit into the frames. As the ends will seldom be visible from eye level I was tempted to not bother but the eventual plan is to cap the exposed ends, so I took off a bit and might eventually sand any excess off once they're in the frame and fixed in place, but I'm keen to get it fitted and in use this week now that the heating has begun to be activated.
