Hollywood movie set...........in Christchurch?????

Nice sunny afternoon today , after a real foggy start to the day.

I have my dad visiting from the Bay of Islands, well , he is sort of visiting us....the lure of the French playing the All Blacks in the rugby test this weekend down here is what really bought him to us!
He and I went into town and had a look around , and we were over by the south side of the square looking down Gloucester St at the EQ damage and re-build. I couldn't get over how the whole area just looks so different.

The old Theatre Royal(I think that is what it was?) historic frontage is being held up by containers, and the whole scene looks quite surreal.....like something out of a Hollywood movie set!
