Greenfinch

Introduced to New Zealand by the settlers in the 1860's.

Don't often see these guys at my place, and I've never managed to photograph one before, but yesterday I put some sunflower seeds in my feeder and that brought both them and the goldfinches to visit.

Unfortunately my living room windows have, some time in the past, had a uv filter put over the glass. This is pretty necessary as the sun pours directly through them in summer and overheats the room, but it does make taking decent photos through the window impossible - no matter how much I clean them.
