Submerged.
Further dispatches from a turbulent river.
15yo and I walked from Roberts Park along the River to Dowley Gap and back along the canal. The weir at Hirst Mill (main image) was completely submerged as the Aire continues to drain the Pennine rain.
Wildlife interest came from a Kingfisher, a Goosander and a couple of Red Admiral butterflies.
On the return leg we stopped at Higher Ground café for the first time - they had an impressive selection of cakes and baked goodies.
