Safe water

This disused Northern Lighthouse Board gas buoy looks like a giant beach ball which has washed up near the Lighthouse Museum. The red and white vertical stripes indicate that it marks safe water. 
By way of contrast the sea mine used as a collecting box outside the Museum and shown in the extra presented extreme danger.
