Dave the sax

Dave takes a breather while the other two ponder over some intricacies of the song we’re rehearsing this morning. We didn’t reach a conclusion. Our bassist thought we were singing “Addicted to Love” too quickly the singer thought it was a dirge, so we retired to the patio for refreshments and talk about something else.

Dave the sax is so named because he plays the sax. He’s the south eastern’s equivalent of a bagpipe player. He’s been spotted under motorway bridges practicing the sax. You have to admire his tenacity.

However, we can’t fit a saxophonist into the band so he’s been recruited to play a bit of percussion to try and regulate our tempo. It’s work in progress.

Susan and I played and rehearsed a few songs ourselves after dinner tonight. It was good fun. Playing and singing always is.
