October 9

A drive along the Eastern Shore this morning. Not much for fall color, I think Hurricane Lee blew a lot of leaves off the trees and turned other ones brown. I decided to stop at Martinique Beach for a walk and check out the birds that were there. Lots of sandpipers and sanderlings running around. The sanderlings are so fast, running back and forth as the waves come in. Several people were there surfing too.
The temperature there was around 16 C, not warm, but not cold either.
There was a little moth flying around the lamp a few minutes ago and Peaches was here on the desk trying to catch it. Somehow it escaped from her but she kept trying to find it. She must have spotted something over by another lamp, since she went there.
This morning the neighbors cat decided to come on the deck to try to catch a bird. He didn't get anything. I heard a thump when he jumped on the railing. Peaches heard it too and she jumped up on the desk and almost went thru the window when she spotted the other cat. The other cat saw her in the window and decided not to hang around.
Back to work tomorrow after a 3 day weekend. Will have to see how many things get left on the job sites this week. One of my customers emailed me today to let me know they found a tarp and a shovel that had been left there. They did it the same day they left the pruners on another jobsite.
