Griffith Observatory

We woke to smog but quickly the sun came out. We’d been advised to visit Griffith Observatory for the views of the city and the Hollywood sign. So we set off - it took about 40 mins to cross the city and we walked up to the Observatory from Griffith Park. Lots of local Angelinos were also taking this Sunday stroll. We were rewarded with good views of the city and, of course, the Hollywood sign. There’s also a good, free museum in the observatory. 
In the afternoon we went to Venice Beach (busy) and enjoyed  a stroll along the famous (but a wee bit tacky) boardwalk. More interesting were the man made Venice canals just off the beachfront complete with bridges and some beautiful (and expensive) houses.
