Now we have everything

Anna's creche

We had a bad day today. It actually started well. We got up and out for 9:30am (good for us) and headed over to Bounds Green children's centre to get weighed. I saw my neighbour Jenn getting little Sebastian measured, and Kelly and Anna were there too as expected. We were all planning to get our babies weighed before meeting up at the cinema.

After clocking Charlie in at 15lb (whoop!) I put him back in the Bjorn and headed back to the car to go pick up Emily and Oscar. All was going fine. I pulled up in a tiny space on her very narrow, car-lined street and got them both in. Oscar normally hates car rides but seemed fine. Although he didn't really have chance to moan!

I drove down to the end of the road to doa 3 point turn and just when I pulled out of the turn I heard Emily say 'Oh...OH!' followed by a loud crunch as I clipped the passenger wing of the car on a parked up mini van. I completely misjudged the distance due to not being able to see all the way over the bonnet. Ridiculous I know. Thankfully we were only at crawling speed so noone was hurt but the damage to the car was pretty bad. The metal just completely crumpled in.

Emily took Oscar in the sling to the bus stop and I drove the car home with metal whacking every speed bump on the way back. I rang Robin but he's in Manchester tonight so there's not much he can do. Well, I later found out that he did do something: he contacted Katrina on facebook and asked her to come check on me as I sounded shaken.

When she showed up and gave me a hug I almost cried. It was such a stupid accident but I was so angry at myself. She wasn't planning on joining us at the cinema as she's working next week so had some preparation to do. Thankfully she was nice to spare an hour to come and talk to me. I was going to ask her to watch Charlie whilst I took the car to the garage but decided against going anywhere near it. I'll leave it for when Robin gets back.

It was Anna's turn to host BWW this week so at around 1pm after Katrina left I started a slow walk down to hers. Charlie needed to sleep and I needed the fresh air. I arrived there about 10 minutes before Emily, Kelly and the other Anna. Charlie woke up full of beans after his nap and he seemed to enjoy playing in the little creche Anna had set up. I had to grab a snap of all our babies together. They looked so adorable.

When we got home I put Charlie straight into the bath and he was in bed asleep by 6:40pm. The events of the day clearly knocked him out. He didn't wake until 4:30am.
