Gingko tree with fruits

The small park near our guesthouse has several gingko biloba trees and today I discovered a female tree with fruits ! Gingko trees are living fossils, about the oldest kind of trees still existing, they might have been there when dinosaurs ruled the planet .They are very special , a hybrid between coniferous trees and deciduous trees, what looks like leaves are actually needles stuck together. You don’t often see the female trees in public spaces, those fruits when ripe smell rather disgusting and when falling off the tree turn the pavement into a slippery hazard.
