Palya
Up at 5.20am to drive to the sunrise over Uluru viewing point. Last night's sunset was very sociable with tables and picnics and glasses of wine. This morning's was quiet, still. Everyone half asleep and wearing a mixture of clothing to keep warm.
Afterward, we headed to the Olgas and Wapal Gorge. The stone has less iron in it, so it's slightly less red. It's also not as crumbly and there are larger bolders of stone to navigate. We also walked through part of the Valley of Winds too.
By 10.30 am, we were back home with 10,000 steps under our belts and exhausted.
This afternoon we lazed, read and packed, ready for the off tomorrow.
Palya is aboriginal for hello, welcome, thanks, and goodbye. Palya Uluru, it's been lovely exploring you, but now it's time to get the red sand off of my shoes and head to the sea side.
