Comfort Food

Smithers has lost so much weight over the past few weeks that it’s time now to build him up. This is his favourite ‘old school’ pudding, for which I used a Nigella recipe that is new to me, containing lemon zest and juice. It doesn’t take long because it’s made in the microwave.

It was absolutely delicious, as is evidenced by the fact that The Traveller, who usually disdains to eat the old fogeys’ fare, was happy to sit down (in the next room, well away from us for health reasons) and polish off a good plateful with lashings of custard.
