Quod oculus meus videt

Winter Crop Sunrise

Visited Hobble End this morning, just in time for the sunrise.  The footpath that leads across the fields now benefits from a new stile that improves the prospects of not getting stung by stinging nettles, though there are still other boundary hedges where you have to climb the gate (on the hinge side, of course) to carry on walking.

This field has a footpath that crosses diagonally, from corner to corner, but there was no evidence of it, or footprints to suggest that hikers had gone before.  I ventured into the field using the tractor's tyre tracks just as the sun rose.  I just liked the simplicity of the scene and the cloud formation above.

If you look at the map with aerial layer open, you can see that the farmer is normally very accommodating by creating the footpath across the field.  I imagine that as the crop has only just come through the soil, he hasn't got around to it as yet.
