Spectacular view.
Today we visited the Monsal Head viaduct and had a walk by the river, the sun was shining again today making a pleasant day. We viewed the viaduct from below then we climbed up to walk along the top and through the Headstone tunnel one of eight tunnels on the Monsal trail. We climbed back up the steep stepped trail back to the top where we sat and had our lunch (definitely been exercising my new hips this week).
Our next stop was to visit the church in Tideswell. Due to its size and magnificent architecture
the parish church St John the Baptist Church is known as the Cathedral of the Peak.
After our visit we felt we needed to help the local economy by visiting the local pub -The George - a former 1780’s coaching inn.
Back at Phoebe we enjoyed the antics of a couple of squirrels.
