Hergest Ridge

This morning we walked the Hergest Ridge which runs from Kington in Herefordshire to Gladestry in Radnorshire (Powys) on the Offa's Dyke long distance trail. Conditions were absolutely foul with wind, low cloud and driving rain for most of the walk. I only risked getting my camera out for one photograph and that was this image of the Monkey Puzzle trees which stand near the highest point on the ridge in what was, in Victorian times, a horse racing course. Some might remember 'Hergest Ridge' as the follow-up album to Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield.
